01The challenge

Making an unconventional model understandable.

Multilateral barter is naturally more complex than an ordinary purchase. The challenge was to turn that logic into a simple, understandable and reliable experience for companies, without asking them to master the mechanisms behind the network.

Buying is familiar.

Bartering in a network is not.

02Our role

The whole platform.

A network of companies that offer products and services, make transactions and receive virtual credit to use with other members. Skyio has built and evolved the platform since 2020.

03The model

A trade does not have to end where it started.

In a traditional purchase, the relationship ends between buyer and seller. In multilateral barter, a company sells to one member and uses the credit with another.

  1. A sells to B
  2. Credit in the network
  3. A buys from C

04The experience

A complex idea had to feel simple.

  1. 01OfferThe company puts products or services on the network.
  2. 02SellAnother member buys, and the sale becomes virtual credit.
  3. 03Build a balanceThe credit becomes available to the company.
  4. 04Use it in the networkThe balance pays for purchases from other businesses in the network.

05Evolution

The platform grew with the network.

Each stage of the business model called for new features. One example is BIX, a way to pay inside the barter network with the platform's own credit.

  • Financial control
  • Member security
  • Reports
  • Automations
  • WhatsApp integration
  • Role-based permissions
  • Multiple users per operation
  • Franchises
  • BIX

06The technology

What holds the network up.

A product that grows and changes every year, with no closed final version.

  • Built to evolveThe architecture keeps up with a product in constant change, without depending on a final delivery.
  • More control as the network growsFinancial control, permissions, users and reports evolved to keep operations secure.
  • Many operations, one platformWith franchises, each operation got its own responsibilities, access and views.

07The network today

An economy in operation.
